Biographical Information

PAUL FLEMING

After graduation,I attended U.C. College of Education. I became a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity; Co Captain of the U.C. Wrestling and Baseball team my senior year;served on the Teacher College Tribunal and graduated with a B.S. in Education in '62.

I taught and coached wrestling at Woodward HS from '62 through '66.

Inthe summer I was a lifeguard and swim coach at Terrace Park swim club

In July of '65, I married Cathy Mulvihill..We have two daughters who teach in Dover and four grandchildren.

In the fall of '66 I returned to U.C. as a graduate assistant to work on aM.. ED and coach the

wrestling team

Inthe fall of '67 I was offered a position at the U.ofNorth Carolina at Charlotte as coach of the wrestling and cross country team and Instuctor in the Education Dept. I was named DIAC Coach of the Year in both wrestling and cross country in "70. While at UNCC I did post graduate work in administration and in '71, I became an Assistant Principal for two Junior HS in Warrenton,VA In '72 I moved my family to Dover,DE when I became Vice Principal at Dover Air Force Base

H.S. After two years, I was offered a counseling position at the newly created Delaware

Technical & Community College in Dover. I taught; coached tennis;served three times as Faculty Senate President; and retired in '06.

In '85 along with two friends, I opened a restaurant in an old Victorian house in Dover.

"W.T. Smithers" sold it in '90.

I served on the Capital School District, Board ofEducation from '94-'00

In '98 I was selected as a Distinguished Alumnus,D.C. College of Education I was elected as President of the Delaware Counseling Association in '95.

As a retiree, I've been teaching in the Career and Technical Ed Dept.at Wilmington University;

serve on the Dover Human Relation Commission;graduated from the Delaware State Police Citizens Police Academy in'07 ;travel and play softball,golf and tennis.
