The coal consumption above reported is high due to the installation of new type stokers, requiring experimental firing and also to a heavy leak of steam. This has now been corrected, and the consumption down to where it should be, per K. W. H. The new stokers are doing excellent work and permit us to obtain much higher rating on the boilers than was ever possible with the old stokers.

                                                                                    L. D. Shank, Supt.
