Biographical Information


On May 8, 2000, William P. McGlumphy began his first two year term as one of two Councilmen elected from Dover's Second District. Since then he has been re-elected twice, once in April 2002 and again in April 2006.

Mr. McGlumphy is currently a member of the Legislative Finance & Administration Committee, Parks, Recreation, & Community Enhancement Committee and the Construction Code Board of Appeals. In his prior terms, he has served as Council President, once in 2001/2002 and again in 2003/2004, and as a member of the Safety Advisory & Transportation Committee and Dover Library Commission.

Mr. McGlumphy has been a resident of Dover for twenty-four (24) years. He and his wife, Stephanie, have three (3) children, Cory, Chris, and Erin.

For twenty-two (22) years he was a teacher and administrator for Capital School District. He also was the former principal of Dover High School and a graduate of the Citizens Police Academy for the Dover Police Department.
