For the past 25 years, Mr. Carey has been employed by Chesapeake Utilities Corporation in the Marketing Department, Development Sales. He has been in sales and marketing for 43 years.

Mr. Carey has been a member of Robbins Hose Co. No.1 for 45 years, serving as Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, Fire Chief, Vice President and President. He has also served on the Board of Directors and Trustees for several years.

In addition, he currently serves as an active member of the Delaware State Fire Chief's Association, Delaware Volunteer Fireman's Association, Delaware League of Local Governments, Home Builders Association of Delaware, Delaware Economic Development Council, Central Delaware Economic Council Executive Committee, Kent County Fireman's, and Kent County Fire Chiefs Association.

For several years, Mr. Carey served on the Advisory Committee to the Fire Protection and Engineering Technology and Safety Management for the Delaware Technology and Community College in Stanton, Delaware. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Lower Delaware Home Builders Association and as a Trustee on Chesapeake Utilities Corporation Emergency Energy Recipient Program for the Elderly and Handicapped.

Mr. Carey completed a 12 year term with the Delaware State Fire Prevention Commission, appointed by the Governor of the State of Delaware. While on the Commission, he served as Chairman for three (3) years. During this time, he worked with the Joint Finance Committee and Bond Bill Committee to acquire funding to operate the Fire Commission, Fire School and State Fire Marshal's Office.

He has also served as president of a number of organizations, including Chesapeake Utilities Corporation Emergency Energy Recipient Program for the Elderly and Handicapped; Delaware Economic Development Council; Society of American Military Engineers at Dover Air Force Base; Kent County Fire Chief's Association, Kent County Fireman's Association and has served as Vice-President on the Lower Delaware Home Builders Association.
